At Nurture Pods, we have assembled a highly experienced and comprehensive team comprising registered psychologists and highly experienced Case Supervisors and behavioral therapists based in Singapore. The entire team at Nurture Pods has been carefully selected based on their qualifications, experience and passion for working with children and individuals with special needs.


Alex Liau
Clinical Director

Alex obtained his degree in Psychology in the National University of Singapore (NUS) and has many years of experience working with children exhibiting a wide array of learning and behavior difficulties, with many diagnosed as having autism spectral disorder (ASD).


 


Soh Yong Hao
Center Director

Yong Hao holds a Masters degree in Psychology from the National University of Singapore. During his course of study, he engages in extensive literature reviews and research work in the field of psychology.


 

Tee Shee Hui
Early Intervention Specialist (Centre)

Shee Hui graduated with Honours from Nanyang Technological University with a Degree in Psychology. Her course of study has equipped her with a broad understanding of human behaviour across various fields of psychology and also important knowledge relating to child development and behavioral approaches to provide therapy interventions.


 

 


Saloni Balekundri
Therapist

Saloni graduated from University at Buffalo. She possesses extensive experience in working with children. She has volunteered at Gracehaven Salvation Army by providing counselling and guidance to children who display risk behaviours to help them reintegrate back into their families and society


 


Zhi Ying
Therapist

Zhi Ying graduated with Honours from the University of York, UK with a degree in Psychology. Zhi Ying had placements at Badger Hill Primary School and Dunnington Primary School, York, UK and was a volunteer at Hob Moor Oaks School in York, all the settings she had the opportunity to work with students with special needs.


 


Marieta (Mia)
Therapist

Marieta graduated from University of Wollongong with a Bachelor’s of Science degree majoring in Psychology. She has developed strong interest in working with children while she was studying and is experienced in conducting classes by delivering both structured curriculum and unstructured curriculum for children with different level of ability.


 


Farah
Therapist

Farah graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Applied Drama & Psychology. Her course of study has equipped her with a broad understanding of human behavior across various fields of psychology such as developmental psychology, educational psychology, social psychology as well as abnormal psychology. She is highly enthusiastic about her field of study and working with children to raise future leaders.


 


Ashley Wong
Therapist

Ashley graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education (CPEE). She is passionate about working with children with special needs and believes strongly in the importance of early intervention. She hopes to make a positive impact in their lives by offering support for them and to their families in their daily life.


 

 


Athena Liang
Therapist

Athena graduated from Oklahoma City University (OCU-MDIS) with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Studies and Psychology. Her course of study had equipped her with a broad understanding of human behavior across various fields of psychology such as cognitive psychology, clinical health psychology, social psychology, human development and also in behavioral modification.



Cindy Yeow
Therapist

Cindy is from from The University of Murdoch with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. In addition, Cindy has a Diploma in Counselling under Kaplan Higher Education Academy She acquired a range of knowledge of human behaviour in various aspects such as cognitive and developmental psychology.


 


Hazirah
Therapist

Hazirah graduated from University of Wollongong (UOW) from the Singapore Institute of Management with Bachelors of Science in Psychology. Her course of study had furnished her with an expansive comprehension of human behaviour across numerous fields of psychology such as developmental and social psychology, psychology of abnormality, cognition and perception, social behavior and individual differences, and adolescent development. She is passionate about her field of study and hopes to apply academic knowledge to help individuals in need.


 


Shaifudin Yusof
Consultant

Shaifudin graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Master of Education specialized in Special Education. He is also an alumni of James Cook University, Central Queensland University and the Adams State College (now known as Adams State University) with qualifications in Education, Biomedical Science as well as Liberal Arts respectively.


 


Sheena Ang
Therapist

Sheena graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) Degree under University of Wollongong and a Diploma in Psychology under Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Having gone through 5 years of psychology education of many subfields such as developmental, abnormal, cognitive psychology as well as learning about assessment and intervention methods, these have equipped her with a broad understanding of human behavior. Since young, Sheena has always been interested in the development of children, which then sparked her interest to want to work with children with special needs and learning difficulties.


 


Sandy Ang
Therapist

Sandy Ang Kai Ting graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Psychology Studies. She then went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Arts (Psychology) at the University at Buffalo and she is currently undertaking her Master’s Degree in Arts (Applied Psychology – Educational Psychology). She has gained a wide understanding of the various aspects of psychology through the academic courses that she has completed, as well as knowledge relating to child development and the various behavioural approaches of therapy interventions. She is passionate about working with children with special needs, and believes strongly in the importance of early intervention. She hopes to make a positive impact in their lives by offering support for them to learn within their capability and move towards independence one day.


 


Winnie Lee
Therapist

Winnie graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma in Psychology Studies. She then went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Arts (Psychology) at the University at Buffalo and graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honors (equiv. Second Class Upper). Through her academics, she gained a wide understanding of the different aspects in Psychology, along with knowledge relating to child development and the various behavioural approaches of therapy interventions. Winnie has an interest and is passionate in helping children with special needs and believes in the emphasis of early intervention by providing educational/therapysupport. Through early intervention, she hopes to make a positive impact in their lives by offering support for them to learn within their capability and move towards independence one day.

Christa pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Arts (Psychology) at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.


 


Michelle Poh
Social Skills Trainer Consultant

Michelle Poh is in charge of the Social Skills Classes and Social Skills Programs at Nurture Pods.


 


Dr Jed Baker
International Consultant

Dr Baker is the Director of the Social Skills Training Project, a private organization serving individuals with autism and social communication problems in New Jersey, USA for over 20 years.


 


Dr Gary Mesibov
International Consultant

Dr. Gary B. Mesibov is a Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the former Director of the Division TEACCH for more than 30 years.


 

 


Stephen Shore
International Consultant

Diagnosed with “Atypical Development and strong autistic tendencies” and “too sick” for outpatient treatment, Dr. Shore was recommended for institutionalization. Nonverbal until four, and with much support from his parents, teachers, wife, and others, Stephen is now a professor at Adelphi University where his research focuses on matching best practice to the needs of people with autism.
