At Nurture Pods, we have assembled a highly experienced and comprehensive team comprising registered psychologists and highly experienced Case Supervisors and behavioral therapists based in Singapore. The entire team at Nurture Pods has been carefully selected based on their qualifications, experience and passion for working with children and individuals with special needs.


Alex Liau
Clinical Director

Alex obtained his degree in Psychology in the National University of Singapore (NUS) and has many years of experience working with children exhibiting a wide array of learning and behavior difficulties, with many diagnosed as having autism spectral disorder (ASD).

Soh Yong Hao
Center Director

Yong Hao holds a Masters degree in Psychology from the National University of Singapore. During his course of study, he engages in extensive literature reviews and research work in the field of psychology.


 

Tee Shee Hui
Early Intervention Specialist (Centre)

Shee Hui graduated with Honours from Nanyang Technological University with a Degree in Psychology. Her course of study has equipped her with a broad understanding of human behaviour across various fields of psychology and also important knowledge relating to child development and behavioral approaches to provide therapy interventions.


 

 


Saloni Balekundri
Therapist

Saloni graduated from University at Buffalo. She possesses extensive experience in working with children. She has volunteered at Gracehaven Salvation Army by providing counselling and guidance to children who display risk behaviours to help them reintegrate back into their families and society


 


Zhi Ying
Therapist

Zhi Ying graduated with Honours from the University of York, UK with a degree in Psychology. Zhi Ying had placements at Badger Hill Primary School and Dunnington Primary School, York, UK and was a volunteer at Hob Moor Oaks School in York, all the settings she had the opportunity to work with students with special needs.


 


Yan Yahya
Therapist

Yan Yahya obtained certificate in Learning Support and Shadow Training organized by Total Communication Therapy Centre. The course study had equipped me with broad understanding of the practical approaches and clinical components with special needs. Upon her strong interest in human development, currently she is currently pursuing Bachelor Degree of Arts in Psychology with Murdoch University.



Marieta (Mia)
Therapist

Marieta graduated from University of Wollongong with a Bachelor’s of Science degree majoring in Psychology. She has developed strong interest in working with children while she was studying and is experienced in conducting classes by delivering both structured curriculum and unstructured curriculum for children with different level of ability.


 


Elizer Ang
Therapist

Elizer did her degree in Childhood Studies and Guidance and Counselling under Northumbria University, UK. She acquired a broad range of knowledge of human behaviour in various aspects such as developmental psychology, cognitive neuroscience and social psychology. She is passionate about her field of study.


 


Jeanette Ong
Therapist

Jeanette is from The University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology. Her course of study had equipped her with a broad understanding of human behaviour across various fields of psychology such as developmental psychology, clinical psychology, cognitive psychology and developmental disorders. She is highly enthusiastic about her field of study and hopes to apply what she has learnt in her course to help individuals, particularly children, in need.

Therapist

Farah graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Applied Drama & Psychology. Her course of study has equipped her with a broad understanding of human behavior across various fields of psychology such as developmental psychology, educational psychology, social psychology as well as abnormal psychology. She is highly enthusiastic about her field of study and working with children to raise future leaders.


 

 

 


Gwee Gin Jen
Therapist

Gin Jen graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma in Psychology Studies. Gin Jen has prior experience working with children with special needs, specifically children with autism. Previously, she was a teacher’s aide at Pathlight School, which specifically catered for children with autism.


 

 


Pearlyn Pua
Therapist

Pearlyn graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Applied Drama and Psychology in 2011. She possesses extensive experience in working with children, she has been teaching children for the past 3 and a half years and has conducted parent assisted classes for children between the age of 8 months to 24 months.



Athena Liang
Therapist

Athena graduated from Oklahoma City University (OCU-MDIS) with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Studies and Psychology. Her course of study had equipped her with a broad understanding of human behavior across various fields of psychology such as cognitive psychology, clinical health psychology, social psychology, human development and also in behavioral modification.



Chirnchip
Therapist

Chirnchip graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Education in Special Education. She also holds a Diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She has in-depth understandings of a wide range of learner and developmental disabilities. Chirnchip is passionate about this field of study, and continually seeks to improve her knowledge and expertise. She is currently working towards her goal of studying in a Masters in Speech Pathology program.



Cindy Yeow
Therapist

Cindy is from from The University of Murdoch with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. In addition, Cindy has a Diploma in Counselling under Kaplan Higher Education Academy She acquired a range of knowledge of human behaviour in various aspects such as cognitive and developmental psychology.


 


Cheyenne Tan
Therapist

Cheyenne is from Singapore Institute of Management (University at Buffalo), honours degree in Psychology. Having studied modules such as Clinical psychology and Abnormal Psychology, she was able to learn more about people with special needs. This deepened her interest to work with special needs children in a bid to help them in their journey.


 


Brenda Ang
Therapist

Brenda graduated with cum laude honors from University at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.


 


Leow Jing Wen
Therapist

Jingwen graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with Honours. Her course of study had equipped her with a broad understanding of human behaviours across various field of psychology, such as development psychology, reading development and disorders, basic counselling skills and clinical neuropsychology. She has a strong passion for direct social interventions and hopes to apply what she has learnt to help individuals in need.

Therapist

Hazirah graduated from University of Wollongong (UOW) from the Singapore Institute of Management with Bachelors of Science in Psychology. Her course of study had furnished her with an expansive comprehension of human behaviour across numerous fields of psychology such as developmental and social psychology, psychology of abnormality, cognition and perception, social behavior and individual differences, and adolescent development. She is passionate about her field of study and hopes to apply academic knowledge to help individuals in need.

Stacy is from Singapore Management University (SMU), majoring in Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology with honors. Her course of study has equipped her with a broad understanding of human behaviour across various fields of psychology.


 


Chermin Huang
Therapist

Chermin graduated from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle with a Bachelor of Arts(Hons) in Childhood studies and guidance counselling and also completed a specialist diploma in Applied Psychology awarded by Raffles College of Higher education. Her course of studies has equipped her with a broad understanding of human behaviour across various fields of psychology such as developmental psychology, neuropsychology, counselling, as well as abnormal child psychology.


 


Daren Liew
Therapist

Daren graduated from University at Buffalo with Latin Honours, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. In addition, he holds a Diploma in Psychology & Community Services from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Having had seven years of formal education in the field of psychology, he is equipped with a broad understanding of human behaviours, motivations and needs.

Shai graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Master of Education specialized in Special Education. He is also an alumni of James Cook University, Central Queensland University and the Adams State College (now known as Adams State University) with qualifications in Education, Biomedical Science as well as Liberal Arts respectively.


 


Felicia Loh
Therapist

Felicia graduated from the University Of Western Australia (UWA), with the Bachelor of Science, double major in psychological sciences and psychology in society and is currently pursuing her Honours. Her course of study had equipped her with a broad understanding of human behaviour across various fields of psychology such as lifespan developmental psychology, atypical development psychology and cognitive psychology. She is highly passionate about her field of study and hope to be able to apply what she has learnt in her course to help individuals, especially children in need.


 


Joshua Wu

Joshua graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in psychology. His course of study has given him a broad understanding of the various aspects of psychology such as abnormal psychology, child psychology, developmental psychology and language development in children. He is very passionate about his field of study and he hopes to use his knowledge to aid those in need.

Michelle Poh is in charge of the Social Skills Classes and Social Skills Programs at Nurture Pods.

Consultant Occupational Therapist

Titus provides Occupational Therapy and Consultation services at Nurture Pods Centre for Child Development and Early Intervention.


 


Dr Jed Baker
International Consultant

Dr Baker is the Director of the Social Skills Training Project, a private organization serving individuals with autism and social communication problems in New Jersey, USA for over 20 years.


 


Dr Gary Mesibov
International Consultant

Dr. Gary B. Mesibov is a Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the former Director of the Division TEACCH for more than 30 years.


 

 


Stephen Shore
International Consultant

Diagnosed with “Atypical Development and strong autistic tendencies” and “too sick” for outpatient treatment, Dr. Shore was recommended for institutionalization. Nonverbal until four, and with much support from his parents, teachers, wife, and others, Stephen is now a professor at Adelphi University where his research focuses on matching best practice to the needs of people with autism.
