Sheena Ang

Sheena graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) Degree under University of Wollongong and a Diploma in Psychology under Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Having gone through 5 years of psychology education of many subfields such as developmental, abnormal, cognitive psychology as well as learning about assessment and intervention methods, these have equipped her with a broad understanding of human behavior. Since young, Sheena has always been interested in the development of children, which then sparked her interest to want to work with children with special needs and learning difficulties

Her interest in working with special needs children was further heightened while interviewing a family for a school project who had a son that was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Through that project, she learned so much more about how children with special needs have different coping behaviors, and the various struggles that a family faces, which led her to realize that a child’s environment is very crucial for the development of the child. Thus, Sheena decided o work in the developmental field so that she can apply her knowledge and continue learning at the same time.

Sheena has also volunteered at the Melrose home, for underprivileged children by tutoring them as well as carrying out craft activities. Through the volunteering sessions, it has helped Sheena pick up skills and various methods that will help in managing children.
