Meet the Specialists
Fiany pursued a Diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore. During her course of study, Fiany studied many relevant modules such as Developmental Psychology and Learning, Psychology of Exceptional Children, The Learning Environment and Behaviour Management, Childhood Disorders and Disabilities, and Early Intervention and Teaching Approaches. She has also interned at various preschools and EIPIC centres during her course of study.
Her experience as an Early Intervention teacher has equipped her with a deeper understanding of the various developmental disorders and the necessary skills when working with children of special needs. Fiany has experience working with different profiles of children (1.5 – 7 years old) with developmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech and Language Delay (SLD), and Global Developmental Delay (GDD). Having conducted school and home visits at the request of caregivers/ preschools, Fiany is able to provides strategies to engage and support children of different personalities and abilities in their natural environment. She hopes to be able to make a positive impact in the lives of these children by working closely with their caregivers, teachers, and support staff.
Besides working as an Early Intervention Teacher, Fiany’s interest and commitment in working with children is evident through her volunteer and various related experiences.
She has conducted puppetry workshops for children in EIPIC centres and led the children in a performance for the Prime Minister! She has also volunteered overseas as a teacher for underprivileged children and student monks in a monastery. She has also dedicated her time working with individuals and organisations that support empowerment for people who are differently abled. Fiany believes that every child is unique in their own way and it is her goal to strive to equip children with the proper foundation and skills to pursue their dreams.
